Free, I’m Giving It Away In Exchange For Input!

This is an introduction to my new project and blog, Freebieday.

Freebieday is a new blog with the concept of giving away weekly my accumulated library of digital media. What led me to do this project is the fact that information technology, in particular e-books for sale has way to much competition for me.

I have sold many e-books over the years. I bought the rights to many and have joined many affiliate programs. No I did not make my fortune. Did I make money? Yes I made enough to have some spending money. It was enough to buy some luxuries that I really wanted but I was never able to turn selling information into a full time business. I am not saying that you won’t have success or someone stepping into this business won’t have success. This is not about that. This is about me, what I have done or didn’t do right, where I am headed and what direction I want to go in.

With that said let me give you the run down on what my visions are for this blog.

Motivation:

I have no motive other than to learn.

I have a library of information products dating back to the mid 90s. I have more e-books and software than I can count. What I am interested in doing is a research project on what is still interesting and what is not. I plan on using this information for an up and coming study on the e-book market. Where it is going and where it has been. Any suggestions on the approach to this are very welcome. I look forward to your comments. My hope is to gather enough information to write a paper on this subject. I am sure that The E-Book Marketer will find this study to be helpful in their business.

This project is based on a One Year Study. My hope is to gather enough information to present a rather compelling argument that will interest marketers all over the world. My results will show a link back to this blog site as proof of information gathered. In this way anyone who comments will get credit for there input. So comment and comment often.

The Plan:

How I plan to do this is quite simple. Every week I will list one item for download. Through the comments section I hope to get as much feedback as possible on that particular item and enter that feedback into a database and score it through the number of positives, negatives and neutrals. Once a month I will post the results. You can use this information any way you choose.

This is significant as the more people that view and comment on a particular product let you and I know what is still a useful item and what is not.. I will then write an individual report based on your comments and post it on this blog along with the scores every month. This project will only work if I have the traffic flowing through this site. I need your help to do this. I don’t want your money. I just want your input, so please tell your friends and connections to stop by, download the free software and comment. I welcome everyone. Add a feed so you can monitor upcoming results and see what software is being added.

Thoughts:

My thoughts were originally to create a box set of compact disks and sell the whole library but the more I thought about doing this, it became more of a burden than I really wanted to deal with. I mean, think about it. Probably a good many prospects have a good amount of the products that are in this library to begin with. That was enough to deter me away from becoming successful with this project.

Next came packaging this product. Yes I can package the product myself but how professional is that. If I was to do this project I would have a nice out of pocket expense for packaging. Yes I can find a packaging company that would set me up with a reasonably cheap packaging plan but this cuts into the profits a little more than I want. When you think of an advertising budget, separate hosting plan and what ever else comes down the pike, this project was starting to get a little to big for what I intended. I started thinking about how many people have done this and how much competition is actually out there. By this point the idea was scratched.

In Closing:

In closing I would just like to say that I envy those that make there living by marketing on the internet as I love it but I never really grasped the concept. I don’t see an easy living. Internet marketing is hard work. Those who make their living by doing this type of work, work very hard at becoming successful. If they are off at some tropical paradise partying up a storm while they are making 6 figure incomes automatically than it took them many years and long hours to get to that point. All I can say is they deserve it.

If anything this project will be a great teacher for me or anyone who reads this blog. I really do hope that you will be a part of this project and take out of it all that you can.

Download the E-Books and Tools, Read Them and comment on them. I would like to see this blog become successful and I need your help to do so.

So you're giving away free something that you don't have copyright on? Some would consider that criminal.

I should have removed that comment but I would rather you explained yourself. I really don't understand what it is that I am doing wrong. If you downloaded any of the software and read the documentation, you would know that I am not doing anything wrong. I have bought the rights to this software and it is listed in the documentation.

If you are going to make bad comments and accuse people of being criminal than at least show who you really are.
